COMMUNICATIONS AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENTS

Johannesburg, South Africa, 02 January 2025 – The Media Development and
Diversity Agency (MDDA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Ayabulela
Poro as Senior Manager: Communications and Stakeholder Engagements, effective
02 January 2025.
Mr. Poro is a distinguished Communications and Marketing professional with a
remarkable career spanning over 15 years in media, journalism, and corporate
communications. He holds an Honours Degree in Journalism from the University of
the Witwatersrand and a Diploma in Journalism from Walter Sisulu University
(WSU).
Before joining the MDDA, Mr. Poro served as the Communications and Marketing
Manager for the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital and the Nelson Mandela
Children’s Fund. His impressive portfolio also includes tenures at renowned
organizations such as the Mail & Guardian and Media Monitoring Africa.
Known for his strategic approach, Aya, as he is fondly called, has excelled in
developing insight-driven communications strategies that strengthen brand
positioning and stakeholder engagement. His passion for democracy, media
freedom, and human rights in South Africa underscores his commitment to using his
expertise to create meaningful impact.
